In 2018 a group of 14 Air Traffic Controllers completed their surveillance training and acquired the rating.
Since 2020 it was planned for the rest of the Air Traffic Controllers to follow the surveillance course, but this was delayed due to the Covid pandemic.
May 2022, 7 Air Traffic Controllers and 1 Department of Civil Aviation Aruba inspector followed the theoretical part of the surveillance course followed by 4 weeks of simulator training in Trinidad & Tobago. All 8 persons completed the course successfully and will commence with the on-the-job surveillance training phase. They are expected to be surveillance rated by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
ANSA congratulates them and wishes them success with their on-the-job surveillance training.
