ATS Message Handling System

As per the 11th of July 2017 ANSA made the transition from the old Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN) to the new ATS Message Handling System (AMHS) for transmitting and receiving aeronautical messages.

The project, in preparation for almost one year, was delivered and implemented by Thales S.A. from France and it included equipment and training for a complete Aeronautical Message Handling System (AMHS) and Aeronautical Information Services (AIS). In comparison with the old AFTN system, the new AMHS system is more reliable and able to transmit/receive at a higher speed and the aeronautical messages can consist of more characters.

Aruba is one of the few Caribbean islands now on the AMHS network.
