ILS/DME Upgrade Project
The ILS/DME upgrade project was successfully carried out in May 2023. The project involved several key tasks:
- A new Radio Frequency (RF) Distribution Unit (DU) was installed at the Localizer.
- A new RF Combiner Unit (CU) was installed at the Localizer.
- The RF Cables of the 14-element Localizer antenna were replaced.
- The Near Field Monitor (NFM) Assembly at the Localizer was renewed.
- A new Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) was installed for the ILS.
- Technical on the job training was provided on the new Selex DME.
The installation process was carried out by a Selex engineer, who received support from ANSA’s Technical Team. On May 11, 2023, the ILS/DME underwent a flight check conducted by Radiola Ltd. The system was certified for operation on May 12, 2023.
