In compliance with ICAO, ANSA in collaboration with AAA plans to actualize Aruba’s aerodrome, terrain and obstacle data. The scope of work contains the coordination and execution of activities to comply with ANSA’s requirement to verify and/or update Aruba’s obstacle, terrain, aerodrome, aeronautical and navaid data, followed by an update of the associated aeronautical information, procedures and publications.
MovingDot contracted Geopro Consultants, LLC to perform an airport data survey and satellite-based photogrammetric mapping at Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) to support airport improvements.
- Geopro performed the ground survey between May 29 and June 1, 2023.
- Geopro acquired new satellite stereo imagery between May 26 and May 24, 2023.
- The project will be completed in September 2023.
Geopro will perform GPS and terrestrial measurements and document:
- Airport Geodetic Control Stations.
- Satellite Photogrammetric Control Stations.
- Runway critical points (thresholds and endpoints).
- Runway centerline profiles.
- Man-made (slender) obstacles.
Geopro will task and obtain new satellite imagery to perform photogrammetric mapping. The imagery will be used in combination with ground control points to satisfy and identify penetrations to the obstacle limitation surfaces. Photogrammetric mapping will be performed via recent high-resolution, stereo satellite imagery.
Imagery will be utilized to generate terrain data with ground-truthing performed by the onsite surveyor.
